Canada 150 Celebrations

Good Shepherd School continues celebrating Canada’s 150 birthday by creating 150 random acts of kindness, decorating classroom doors, and playing Canadian games which students made themselves.  Students enjoyed creating these board games using all their Canadian knowledge.  Sydney, a grade 5 student, shared, “it was fun making the games because we got to spend time with our friends, and we got to look up interesting facts about Canada.  It was fun to colour them, and play each other’s games to see their creativity, and test our brains.”

Mrs. MacLeod stated, “The children were engaged in creating their trivia games about Canada.  They have learned so much about the history of our country this year, and it was nice to see them celebrate our Country in such a fun way.”

Mrs. Ferri-Violante especially loved watching students conduct the 150 random acts of kindness that the children carried out for various people in recognition of Canada’s special day.  “It is heart-warming to see our young Canadians honouring Canada and each other in such a positive way!”
