February is Black History Month
This month students will be involved in a variety of activities in their classes focusing on Black History. Activities include literature, art, research and more. One of our highlights will be to welcome Aubrey Clarke to Good Shepherd CES. on February 3, 2021. He will work with our students in two sessions. JK-3 at 9:30 a.m. and Grades 4-8 at 10:30 a.m. These presentations will be done remotely so all of our students can participate. Aubrey Clarke is an author who inspires children to be dreamers. He was born in Georgetown Guyana and immigrated to Canada as a young boy. He fell in love with children’s literature. He started writing poetry and performing the spoken word. He wrote the book “Fly Way Up High”. He was inspired to write a story that would touch, effect, empower and change lives positively. He is motivating and inspiring all ages to turn their dreams into reality. Thank you to Ms. Kowal for arranging this special presentation and to all of our staff for your great efforts in organizing wonderful learning experiences.
