Grade Eight Graduate Clap Out

June 17, 2021.

Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),

I would like to take this opportunity to give you some more information about the grade 8 Clap-Out on June 23, at 7:00 p.m.

The event will proceed as follows:

  • Families (with graduates) will drive around the parking lot without getting out of their cars (one family per car)

  • Only graduates and their immediate families can participate.

  • The car pauses at the beginning of the route and picks up the lawn sign, which has been planted in the ground at the front of the school and the graduate package from the table.

  • The graduate may then take the sign and their graduation package to the front of the school to take a picture under the Good Shepherd school sign

  • One parent may exit the car to take the picture

  • The graduate or parent will then put the sign into the trunk of their car and drive off as staff members cheer.

  • Staff will remain physically distanced during the process.

Of course, during this unprecedented time, we must adhere to the safety guidelines set out by the Ministry of Health. I have listed them here:

Passive screening: all participants must take a COVID-19 self-assessment before attending – no one who has fever, is sick, COVID positive, COVID symptoms, an active COVID contact, travel history, etc. may participate.

Family/students in the car must follow proper protocols: immediate household only (Only one household per vehicle allowed)

Rules of the road must be maintained – we don’t want the driver to also be taking photos.

Mr. Amos will be acting as the dedicated as a COVID Safety Martial (ensure compliance with physical distancing,

● No materials may be exchanged between vehicles

● No access to the school building except for necessary staff members

● A  mask for everyone outside a vehicle is mandatory for staff, students, parents, etc.

● Gloves are not required, however, proper hand hygiene is strongly encouraged when receiving the lawn sign.

** people are not to gather to take group photo’s.
